How to Prep Your Hair for
Wedding Day
These are your do’s and dont’s for prepping your hair for the big day! Taking this advice will not only help you and your bridal party’s hair look amazing, but will help your stylist create the most perfect look for you!
DO:
SHAMPOO + BLOWDRY YOUR HAIR BEFORE THE WEDDING
Shampooing your hair the night or day before the wedding will ensure your hair is clean and free of oil or build-up. If your hair is very oily, you can wait until the morning of to complete this step. Your hair MUST be blow-dried after shampooing. This will help smooth your hair and add shine. It will also help reduce frizz and create some natural volume in the hair.

When washing your hair, always remember to shampoo twice and scrub your entire scalp each time.

Damp hair is not dry hair. Make sure your hair is completely dry before going to bed or sitting in the chair to be styled.

If your hair is not completely dry, a $25 fee will be added for additional blow-drying.
ADD STYLING PRODUCTS WHEN BLOW DRYING YOUR HAIR
If you are unsure of what type of products to add to your hair before a blow-dry, feel free to ask your bridal stylist!
If you have fine, limp hair, we suggest a heat protectant plus a volumizing mousse in order to add shine and body to the hair.

If you have curly or wavy hair, but do not want to keep the natural curl pattern incorporated into the style, utilize a serum or conditioning product. Then, add a blowout straightening product.

If you would like to keep the natural curl intact, utilize a curl-enhancing product and then diffuse the hair.

DON'T:
GO TO SLEEP WITH YOUR HAIR WET
AND/OR A MESSY BUN
After shampooing your hair, please make sure it is completely dry before going to sleep. Sleeping with wet hair or hair up can not only damage or break your hair, but it can also cause your hair to become more frizzy and can add unwanted textures to the hair, creating a less than perfect canvas to work with.
THROW YOUR HAIR INTO A BUN THE MORNING OF THE WEDDING
Please do not throw your hair into a ponytail or messy bun the morning of the wedding. This can cause unwanted kinks and dents in the hair. If you need to pull it back away from your face, pull it half back using a claw clip or silk scarf instead of a band or scrunchie.
